⁷ Stay there, eating and drinking whatever they give you, for the worker deserves his wages.^(A) Do not move around from house to house.

¹³ “‘Do not defraud or rob^(A) your neighbor.^(B)

“‘Do not hold back the wages of a hired worker^(C) overnight.^(D)

¹⁴ Do not take advantage of a hired worker who is poor and needy, whether that worker is a fellow Israelite or a foreigner residing in one of your towns.^(A)

¹⁵ Pay them their wages each day before sunset, because they are poor^(A) and are counting on it.^(B) Otherwise they may cry to the Lord against you, and you will be guilty of sin.^(C)

¹⁰ no bag for the journey or extra shirt or sandals or a staff, for the worker is worth his keep.^(A)

¹⁴ In the same way, the Lord has commanded that those who preach the gospel should receive their living from the gospel.^(A)
