48 If we tolerate Him in this manner, everyone will believe in Him, and the Romans will come and take away both our place[a] and nation”. 49 But a certain one of them, Caiaphas, being the high priest of that year, said to them, “You do not know anything— 50 nor do you consider that it is better for you that one Man die for the people, and the whole nation not perish”.
