¹⁸ God spares his soul from the Pit,^(A)
his life from crossing the river of death.^[a]

³⁰ in order to turn him back from the Pit,
so he may shine with the light of life.^(A)

⁴ He redeems your life from the Pit;^(A)
he crowns you with faithful love and compassion.^(B)

²³ So he said he would have destroyed them—
if Moses his chosen one
had not stood before him in the breach
to turn his wrath away from destroying them.^(A)

⁶ I sank to the foundations of the mountains,^(A)
the earth’s gates shut behind me forever!^(B)
Then you raised my life^(C) from the Pit, Lord my God!^(D)
