Jeremiah 4:7
New American Standard Bible
7 A (A)lion has gone up from his thicket,
And a (B)destroyer of nations has set out;
He has gone out from his place
To (C)make your land a waste.
Your cities will be ruins,
Without an inhabitant.
Ezekiel 19:2-6
New American Standard Bible
2 and say,
‘[a]What was your mother?
A lioness among lions!
She lay down among young lions,
She raised her cubs.
3 When she brought up one of her cubs,
(A)He became a young lion,
And he learned to tear his prey;
He devoured people.
4 Then nations heard about him;
He was caught in their trap,
And they (B)brought him with hooks
To the land of Egypt.
5 When she saw, as she waited,
That her hope was lost,
She took [b]another of her cubs
And made (C)him a young lion.
6 And he (D)walked about among the lions,
He became a young lion;
He learned to tear his prey;
He devoured people.

New American Standard Bible
11 Where is the den of the lions
And the feeding place of the (A)young lions,
Where the lion, lioness, and lion’s cub went
With nothing to disturb them?
12 The lion tore enough for his cubs,
[a]Killed enough prey for his lionesses,
And filled his lairs with prey
And his dens with torn flesh.
13 “Behold, (B)I am against you,” declares the Lord of armies. “I will (C)burn up her chariots in smoke, and a sword will devour your young lions; I will (D)eliminate your prey from the land, and no longer will the voice of your messengers be heard.”
