³¹ So that place was called Beersheba,^[a](A) because the two men swore an oath^(B) there.

³³ But Jacob said, “Swear^(A) to me first.” So he swore an oath to him, selling his birthright^(B) to Jacob.

³¹ Early the next morning the men swore an oath^(A) to each other. Then Isaac sent them on their way, and they went away peacefully.

⁵³ May the God of Abraham^(A) and the God of Nahor,^(B) the God of their father, judge between us.”^(C)

So Jacob took an oath^(D) in the name of the Fear of his father Isaac.^(E)
