¹⁸ On that day the Lord made a covenant with Abram^(A) and said, “To your descendants I give this land,^(B) from the Wadi^[a] of Egypt^(C) to the great river, the Euphrates^(D)—

³⁶ except Caleb^(A) son of Jephunneh. He will see it, and I will give him and his descendants the land he set his feet on, because he followed the Lord wholeheartedly.^(B)”

²⁰ When the Lord your God has enlarged your territory^(A) as he promised^(B) you, and you crave meat^(C) and say, “I would like some meat,” then you may eat as much of it as you want.

⁸ If the Lord your God enlarges your territory,^(A) as he promised^(B) on oath to your ancestors, and gives you the whole land he promised them,

³ I will give you every place where you set your foot,^(A) as I promised Moses.^(B)

⁹ So on that day Moses swore to me, ‘The land on which your feet have walked will be your inheritance^(A) and that of your children^(B) forever, because you have followed the Lord my God wholeheartedly.’^[a]
