²² And they kept the Feast of Unleavened Bread ^(A)seven days with joy, for the Lord had made them joyful ^(B)and had turned the heart of ^(C)the king of Assyria to them, so that he aided them in the work of the house of God, the God of Israel.

⁴³ And they offered great sacrifices that day and rejoiced, for God had made them rejoice with great joy; the women and children also rejoiced. And the joy of Jerusalem was heard far away.

⁹ And ^(A)let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, ^(B)if we do not give up.

^3 (A)‘Who is left among you who saw this house ^(B)in its former glory? How do you see it now? ^(C)Is it not as nothing in your eyes? ⁴ Yet now ^(D)be strong, O ^(E)Zerubbabel, declares the Lord. ^(F)Be strong, O ^(G)Joshua, son of Jehozadak, the high priest. ^(H)Be strong, all you people of the land, declares the Lord. ^(I)Work, for ^(J)I am with you, declares the Lord of hosts, ^5 (K)according to the covenant that I made with you when you came out of Egypt. ^(L)My Spirit remains in your midst. ^(M)Fear not. ⁶ For thus says the Lord of hosts: ^(N)Yet once more, in a little while, ^(O)I will shake the heavens and the earth and the sea and the dry land. ⁷ And I will shake all nations, so that the treasures of all nations shall come in, and ^(P)I will fill this house with glory, says the Lord of hosts. ^8 (Q)The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, declares the Lord of hosts. ^9 (R)The latter glory of this house shall be greater than the former, says the Lord of hosts. And ^(S)in this place I will give peace, declares the Lord of hosts.’”
