¹⁵ The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among you, from your fellow Israelites.^(A) You must listen to him.

¹¹ But Jehoshaphat asked, “Is there no prophet of the Lord here, through whom we may inquire^(A) of the Lord?”

An officer of the king of Israel answered, “Elisha^(B) son of Shaphat is here. He used to pour water on the hands of Elijah.^[a](C)”

⁸ When Elisha the man of God heard that the king of Israel had torn his robes, he sent him this message: “Why have you torn your robes? Have the man come to me and he will know that there is a prophet^(A) in Israel.”
