¹³ “If I had done it, it would have been the danger of my life! For nothing can be hidden from the king! Yea, you yourself would have been against me!”

¹⁴ Then Joab said, “I will not wait with you like this.” And he took three arrows in his hand and thrust them through Absalom, while he was still alive in the midst of the oak.

¹⁵ And ten servants who bore Joab’s armor surrounded and struck Absalom, and killed him.
