²¹ He lived in the same way his father had lived: he worshiped the idols his father had worshiped, and he bowed down before them. ²² Amon rejected the Lord, the God of his ancestors, and did not follow the ways of the Lord.

²³ Amon’s officers made plans against him and killed him in his palace.
