^5 (A)Then Rezin king of Syria and Pekah the son of Remaliah, king of Israel, came up to Jerusalem to make war; and they besieged Ahaz but could not overcome him.

^18 (A)The Philistines also had invaded the cities of the lowland and of the South of Judah, and had taken Beth Shemesh, Aijalon, Gederoth, Sochoh with its villages, Timnah with its villages, and Gimzo with its villages; and they dwelt there.

7 Now it came to pass in the days of ^(B)Ahaz the son of Jotham, the son of Uzziah, king of Judah, that Rezin king of Syria and Pekah the son of Remaliah, king of Israel, went up to Jerusalem to make war against ^(C)it, but could not ^[a]prevail against it.

¹⁴ Moreover ^(A)I will make you a waste and a reproach among the nations that are all around you, in the sight of all who pass by.

¹⁵ ‘So ^[a]it shall be a ^(A)reproach, a taunt, a ^(B)lesson, and an astonishment to the nations that are all around you, when I execute judgments among you in anger and in fury and in ^(C)furious rebukes. I, the Lord, have spoken.

⁴ You have become guilty by the blood which you have ^(A)shed, and have defiled yourself with the idols which you have made. You have caused your days to draw near, and have come to the end of your years; ^(B)therefore I have made you a reproach to the nations, and a mockery to all countries.
