Solomon Requests Wisdom
1 Solomon the son of David established himself in his kingdom, and the Lord his God was with him and made him exceedingly great.[a]
2 Solomon spoke to all Israel, to the commanders of thousands and of hundreds, to the judges, and to all the leaders in all Israel, the heads of fathers’ houses.

- 1.1 The Chronicler makes no mention of the rival claims of Adonijah and of his being put to death by Solomon; cf. 1 Kings 2.13-25. He concentrates on the favorable aspects of the reign and enlarges on the wisdom Solomon received from God.
