¹ Except the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it; except the Lord keeps the city, the watchman wakes but in vain.^(A)

²³ Then you will walk in your way securely and in confident trust, and you shall not dash your foot or stumble.^(A)

²⁶ For the Lord shall be your confidence, firm and strong, and shall keep your foot from being caught [in a trap or some hidden danger].

³ I, the Lord, am its Keeper; I water it every moment; lest anyone harm it, I guard and keep it night and day.
