¹⁶ You shall consume all the peoples which the Lord, your God, is giving over to you. You are not to look on them with pity, nor serve their gods, for that would be a snare to you.^(A)

¹³ Do not show pity, but purge from Israel the innocent blood, so that it may go well with you.^(A)

²¹ Do not show pity. Life for life,^[a] eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, and foot for foot!^(A)
